Kylie Farmer - Japanese Language Leader
Kylie Farmer is the Vice President of the Modern Language Teachers Association of Victoria (MLTAV) and the Australian Federation of Modern Language Teachers (AFMLTA).
She is currently project officer for an MLTAV Action Research Project providing Professional Learning to primary language teachers.
She facilitated Phases 1 and 2 of the Asian Languages Professional Learning Project (ALPLP) and facilitated the Teaching Languages in the Primary Classroom Train the Trainer program.
Kylie is also involved in writing language materials for Victorian Essentials Learning Standards (VELS) implementation for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
Kylie has been a coordinator of the Japanese Bilingual Program at Huntingdale Primary Bilingual School since 1998.
She has shared her knowledge and passion for bilingual education at a range of conferences including the Teaching Japanese as a Second Language Conference in Tokyo in 2004.
She is also an active member of the Bilingual Immersion Group network.
